A New Beginning

By | September 26, 2025

Several folks have asked me what happened to my YouTube channel. Here is the truth. And yes, I have the email exchanges and videos to back it up.

Early in 2025, I was made aware that someone was using the moniker “Everyday Ham” for their podcast. After conversing via email, and their subsequent registering of the trademark AFTER I let them know I had been using that for my brand for two and a half years, I decided not pursue action. I have no doubt I would have won the dispute, but the only winners in that scenario are attorneys.

This led me to take my YouTube channel, which had 100 videos and clearly identified me as, “The Everyday Ham”, down. In fact, I completely deleted it. If you don’t own your name, you don’t really own your brand.

To say this theft was hurtful is an understatement. It sent me into a very deep depression that I am only now (months later) starting to come out of. As a man of faith, I forgive these individuals. No buts, I’m just letting it go.

The idea for my YouTube and related channels is to have something engaging for me to do not just now, but also in retirement. Any income from adsense or brand deals would simply support my ham radio hobby into the future.

2025 has been a crushing year for me and my family. I lost my best friend to cancer, lost another precious family member, left my dream job at a national broadcast outlet, moved (again) back to Michigan…and more stuff that I can’t remember as I type this. Add the theft of my brand name and destroying my hopes and dreams…and well, it’s been a less than fun journey this year.

The dust is starting to settle for us in Michigan and I am getting back on the air. I’ve been a broadcaster for over 40 years. Creating content is in my DNA. With new surroundings and time to heal, I think I’m ready to start making ham radio videos again.

The new channel is located at https://www.youtube.com/@n8voxradio and soon that will be shortened at the end to just https://www.youtube.com/@n8vox

I would sincerely appreciate it if you would subscribe and share the link so others can resubscribe as well. Thank you to everyone that has checked on me this year. It’s been a rough one for sure, but I think I’m ready to get back on the horse and give it another go. God bless and 73!

Technician Pool Questions 2022-2026 Free Audiobook

By | October 20, 2022

Amateur radio is my avid hobby, but my full-time occupation is as a professional voice talent. In an effort to help newcomers study for and pass their Technician license exam, I have recorded the entire Technician pool of questions in audiobook form.

Here is a link to a zip file with all of the mp3’s.

This is a professional recording. Each mp3 file is one subelement, or chapter, if you will. You will hear the subelement you are listening to as the intro, and then all the questions with ONLY the correct answer. I left out the incorrect answers because hey, all you really need to know is the right answer! \

The audio is mastered to audiobook industry standards and should sound good anywhere you play it. This is also available as a playlist on YouTube, which you can access here. This is a great option if you use YouTube to listen to audio.

General and Amateur Extra audiobooks are in production and will be posted here soon.

I truly hope this is a help to people studying to pass their Technician exam. Feedback and corrections are always welcome. 73!
